The Phoenix Cinema
The Phoenix Cinema is truly an institution in East Finchley and loved by the local community, who are proud to have such a cultural icon on their doorstep.
The Phoenix is a registered charity and relies on support from the community to continue to run. Why not become a member? See below for more information and please visit the cinema's website at https://www.phoenixcinema.co.uk/
The Phoenix Cinema, nestled in the heart of East Finchley, is a cinematic gem that has been captivating audiences for over a century. Established in 1912, it is one of the oldest purpose-built cinemas in the United Kingdom.
The Phoenix is committed to showcasing a diverse range of films, from the latest blockbusters to timeless classics. The Phoenix is a hub for the local community, providing a cultural centre for East Finchley residents and visitors.
What sets the Phoenix Cinema apart is its dedication to supporting independent, foreign, and art-house films. It frequently hosts Q&A sessions, film festivals, and educational programs.
The Phoenix is committed to remaining as the cinematic heart of the East Finchley community. Through existing support from the local community they have installed a brand-new hi-definition laser projector and screen earlier this year, and now thanks to a grant from Barnet Council a brand new audio system with state of the art Dolby 7.1 surround sound is coming very soon.
